The Indian Marine Federation is the National Body that represents the nascent but
fast growing Boating Industry in India.
The main objective of the IMF is to ensure that the Industry grows in an organized,
responsible and sustainable manner. Towards this end it will organize and host events
that build consumer interest, knowledge and involvement.
The IMF endeavours to recognize the needs of its Members and to provide a platform
for interaction with Government, Policy Makers, Educators and International
Associations.
Our Members are drawn from across the field of the Marine Industry and include boat
builders, service providers, dealers and agents, equipment suppliers and engine
manufacturers and importers.
The IMF is taking a major step forward to promote the Leisure Boating industry in
India by organizing a three-day promotional event, the IMF BOATING DAYS to be
held in Mumbai. This event will showcase domestic and international products and
provide a vibrant platform for the Industry and Consumers to connect.
The IMF BOATING DAYS is being organized by its Members in an independent and
professional manner to provide an equal opportunity for all to create an awareness of
Leisure Boating in a market that is sustained by one of the fastest growing economies
in the world. This economy has almost fully recovered from the global recession of
2008 – 09 with stock exchange, real estate and car sales reaching record levels in the
last quarter of 2009. Exports have also shown strong recovery.
The event will also comprise a conference that will focus on issues relevant to
creating awareness of the benefits that leisure boating, including waterside
developments and marinas can bring to the Indian economy.
On behalf of the Indian Marine Federation and its Members, I welcome you all to the
IMF BOATING DAYS and with your support we hope that this will be a landmark in
the development of Leisure Boating in India for the benefit of all participants and
visitors.
